CommentsIn 2/99, we purchased our GR puppy from Jim. We named her Sugar Star. She is the daughter of Sunshine Hill's Raider adn Racine's Sand Dollar. She is now 4 years old. When I look at the photo on line of Raider, she looks just like her daddy. After a very active, naughty puppyhood, Sugar is now our beloved sweetheart. She has become my constant companion but she also developed some quirks. She hates basketball games on TV and immediately leaves the room if one comes on. She isn't even fond of the remote control..must be some high pitched frequency noise that bothers her about it. But if you show up at our front door, Sugar will great you with a tail wagging enthusiam only associated with GRs. We love her dearly!

My boy is 10yrs. now, and has done it all, CAN CH (owner handled), UD (Obedience), has his OA agility title, one AX leg, and has been a therapy dog. He's a great ambassador for the breed, has a perfect temperament, moderate in size (23.5" @68#'s), We'll be at the National competing in Agility (Nov. Preferred), and Versatility (Obedience). CommentsA week ago I had two beautiful, outwardly healthy goldens. In the past week, both have died after being diagnosed with two different advanced and untreatable forms of cancer. They were a mother and daughter, ages 13 1/2 and 7. My heart is broken. A house is not a home without a golden, and surely there will be one (or two?)in my future.

CommentsSept 15/03 Verdoro's Sunshine Hill Conqwest "Victor" Happens to be my puppy's relitive through His Mom Can Ch Verdoro's Wright up my Alley. My Max looks just like him down to every detail except that Max has a more narrow head but same feet, ears, color and legs. It's like looking at my Max in the future. CommentsTucker celebrated his first birthday last week! He is from the litter of November 12, 2002. What a full, loving, hairy, great year (although my father-in-law calls Tucker more work than both our 5 and 2 year old combined!) Some of our 2 year old daughter's first words were dog commands. Tucker is our second golden (our first was adopted at three). We're looking forward to this Christmas and hoping he doesn't repeat his trick from last year and pull the entire tree over on himself (although he does weigh 60 more pounds this year than last). He has successfully completed advanced obedience training, but like and respectable golden, is still full of himself when it's playtime. Jane

CommentsLooking at the puppies it makes me want another one. Sunshine Hill's Lincoln Cowboy who was born Oct 21,1999 is doing great and he is such a loving dog. He also wants so much love and he will even push away his older sister so he can get all the love. We still miss Sunshine Hill's Dakota Lee (Cody) who was born in Jan 1993 who passed away 1999, he was such a special dog, but everyone who knows Lincoln see so much of Cody in him, he does look some like Cody and he also has a lot of the same mannerisms as Cody. He is everything we could have asked for in a dog although he does have his moments with toilet paper!! We are putting him in agility and depending on how his training goes perhaps obedience. Our dog is everything we could want. In the house and yard, she's just a big, sweet cuddly bear cub who all the neighborhood children love because she is soft and endlessly playful. And on our frequent hikes through the deep woods where she can roam free, she is a remarkable field dog, running for hours and always willing to jump in any river for a swim no matter how swift the current or cold the temperature - just a fantastic retrieving water dog. She is stout, hearty and loyal while also being a loving companion with a disposition that constantly amazes. She is 75 lbs of solid muscle but refuses to hurt ladybugs or butterflies she chases! CommentsWe purchased our Callie from you in 1998. She was from the 6/24/98 litter of Raider and Lady. She died Christmas Eve 2003 of hemangiosarcoma. She was the absolute sweetest girl. She touched the lives of everyone who had the fortune to meet her during her short time on this earth. My only hope is that none of your other dogs have to go through this cancer. Breeder Comment: Unfortunately cancer has become an increasing problem among the dogs of many breeders in our breed as well as in many other breeds of dogs. The jury is still out on why we are experiencing this increase in cancer. Some feel it is because we have better vet care and more dogs are being accurately diagnosed, some feel that it is the many toxins we use in our homes and on our yards that our animals are exposed to, some feel that there is a genetic link but there has been no positive proof as to where this increase is coming from. We as breeders try be responsible and make breeding decisions based on the information that we get from our own records and those that our puppy owners provide for us. Thank you for your comment and please know that we are very sorry for the loss of your Callie.

CommentsWe purchased the light of our life "Cody" from you in 1998. He was diagnosed with bone cancer in November of 2004 and just died on February 19, 2005. Our hearts are broken. He was from the litter of Raider & Madam born on October 2, 1998. He was the sweetest boy. We miss him so much. I hope no one else has to experience this.
